More often than not Halloween costumes are pieced together from various places, stores, and paraphernalia acquired over the years of accumulating stuff in your life.
If you’re thinking about creating another monstrous outfit this year for Halloween, let me just stop you right there.
Don’t get me wrong, you’ve got the right idea. A do-it-yourself costume can be a great feat to conquer, but it’s not for the faint of heart. Most DIY costumes usually come out of the basement looking like they’ve been assembled by Dr. Frankenstein himself.
We want to help you avoid these catastrophes this year by sharing some simple DIY costumes you can use for your next Halloween party or event.
#1 - The White Rabbit
Famously known for his appearance in Alice in Wonderland, the White Rabbit costume can easily be prepared with things you have in your wardrobe right now. Only one purchase is required and I will share that with you later.
Things you need:
- White dress
- Red blazer
- Blue bow tie
- Clock bag
- Bunny ears
While you may have trouble finding a clock bag and bunny ears in your closet, they can easily be purchased from Amazon or any other online retail store and shipped quickly to your home to add more flare to your easy outfit.
#2 - The Cactus
Feeling a bit prickly this year? This one is so simple you can pull it off fairly quickly and it doesn’t take a lot of work on your part either.
Here’s what you need:
- Green dress
- Glue gun
Remember to use that green dress you’re not going to wear anymore, or simply purchase one from any outlet store near you. Warm up your glue gun and begin gluing the strips of yarn to your dress. Viola! You’re a cactus! See image below for more details on how it looks.
#3 - The Unicorn
If you’re looking for a costume which will turn heads, be original, and easy to make without spending a lot for it you can use this idea to DIY.
What you need:
- White leotard
- White tights
- White shoes
- Unicorn headband
Putting this together is as easy as looking in your closet for your latest workout outfit. Substitute a white leotard for any color you desire because who says a unicorn can’t be blue? This one is pretty self explanatory and you will look fantastic!
While you may not be looking forward to pulling out that weird costume from last year, you don’t have to! These three do-it-yourself ideas can be pulled off without too much hassle and they are full of creativity! You are sure to turn some heads at your next Halloween party.
